Here's a new recipe I found for Oatmeal Bars. They're really delicious and can be customized to suit your tastes. In my version below, I used Dark Chocolate Chunks. But, I think using Raisins would probably be better. Of course, you could use both. HAHA. Well, they're great and can be packed into lunches, too!
First, I preheated the oven to 350 and sprayed a 13 x 9 pan with cooking spray. Then, I melted 1 1/2 sticks butter and 1 Tablespoon honey. The recipe said you could also use maple syrup or pancake syrup.
To this, I added 1/2 teaspoon Allspice and 1 teaspoon Baking Soda.
Next add 2 Cups oats, 1 Cup flour, 1 Cup sugar and stir. Finally stir in 1/4 Cup chocolate chips or raisins. (I added 1/2 Cup)
Press this mixture in 13 x 9 pan and bake for 18-25 minutes. Cut into bars after it is cool.
