Birthdays Look Good on You
Happy Birthday, Hubby
Birthdays look good on you, Hubby. Today we celebrated Hubby’s birthday a few days late. I’m glad he was feeling better after his short virus. Now, he was up to eating a delicious meal and dessert. After church, on a very chilly day, we went out for lunch with family. Then, we went home for home-made cheesecake and blueberry topping. Gifts were given to Hubby and cards that were filled with humor. Each year the cards get funnier!
We drank lots of coffee and Hubby fell asleep while we watched football games. Archie didn’t understand what was going on and seemed puzzled by the balloons. But, he was certainly glad to get out of his crate when we returned from the restaurant.
Birthdays Are A Blessing
Birthdays are huge blessings, because what is the alternative? It is good to grow older. We joked a lot about wisdom today, but it’s really a serious issue. While wisdom is important, it’s not always appreciated in this day. Listening to the elders in the family can help to soak up some of their wisdom, gained from many years of life’s experiences. Hubby is great at passing on his wisdom to kids who want to hear.
While Hubby was a teacher and professor, our youngest also is training for the field. There is so much wisdom to be passed from teacher to teacher. All of those hard lessons that teacher’s learn can be shared with him.
Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
Although Hubby is retired, he was a teacher who poured his life into his students. His goal was for them to succeed. He had great success and is now pursuing a new hobby/career of writing. I look forward to seeing the wisdom he’s gained shared with more students. He looks great on his birthday, and I’m so thankful for him.
