Serving A Chronic Illness Meal

It’s been difficult to write the last few days. After taking down the tree and decorations, my body completely crashed! I thought that doing much of the work while seated would make it less stressful for my body, but my body proved me to be wrong….again.

As the severe pain and horrible fatigue took my body and threw it in a ditch, all I could do is rest. I rested and rested, until I was able to start thinking again. Then, I began to read more about my exhaustion and looked into anything at all that might help.
Although I’ve accepted my chronic life, I won’t stop trying to function. When I get to the point where I can’t even “think”, it’s not my best moment. I don’t want to spend my life in such bad shape. Looking over many of the great resources out there, I found a new approach to diet. It’s a diet and lifestyle approach for people with hypothyroidism.
I haven’t been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, but have most of the symptoms. My numbers fit in with a diagnosis (if you go back to the 2003 standards). I guess it’s a reach, but I’ve tried so many other ways to feel better. As I lay here and try to rest, I’m making menu lists and grocery lists. As I actually start this diet program, I’ll let you know more.
If you’ve followed me at all, you know that I’ve tried many diets and approaches, and I can get all enthused about something new. This is just part of having multiple chronic illnesses. I’m willing to try almost anything to have enough energy to get out of the bed. This doesn’t mean that I expect a “cure”. This means that I want to be able to do the laundry without having to rest for the next 24-48 hours.
