My bronchitis symptoms have gotten a little worse the last two days. I’ve also noticed red splotches on the back of my throat and the roof of my mouth. My throat feels sore where these spots are. I’m not sure if it’s an infection or if this is from dry throat from Sjogren’s. My heartburn has been really terrible, too.
I’ve been reading a lot about Sjogren’s and how mouth sores can be caused by scraping the dry skin inside my mouth with rough foods. Since I don’t have enough saliva the skin is scraped or burned very easily. This could be what’s going on.
Swelling can be caused by GERD, too. I don’t think this is it, but who am I to know. It could also be strep throat or just a virus causing a sore throat. My doctor will see me tomorrow to look at it and maybe test it for strep? It feels a little better today, but is still a dark pink or purple color. If it’s strep I want to get started on the treatment before my grandbaby arrives.
I’m also worried about my child and grandchild because my daughter was just diagnosed with Covid. The rest of her family is now showing signs of Covid, too. I’m so worried about all of them and am praying so much! She’s due any day now.
Hubby had a real increase in his coughing and congestion, even though he seemed to be well from his bout with Bronchitis. With Stage 4 Cancer, I am so worried about him. He’s been out and about much more than me and so we’ll both get a Covid test tomorrow. We have to know that we’re not spreading it before we travel to see our grandbaby.
This is such a long period of time where my family has been sick. I guess that we are like so many people right now. Everywhere I turn, people are suffering with sickness. Whether it’s Covid or some other infection or virus, sickness seems to be affecting every family. I hope and pray that we can get well and that you and your family are staying as healthy as possible.
Those of us with chronic illness are already so weak or immunocompromised; we don’t need any other illnesses to deal with. We’re doing everything that we know to do to get better. We’re staying hydrated, using a cool mist humidifier, taking Vitamin C and Zinc, getting as much sleep as possible, eating healthy foods, and praying. I can’t wait to feel better.
