A New Day – A New Plan

My mind is made up about our trip tomorrow. We have agreed to stop every hour to walk around and breathe some fresh air. Hubby gets so sleepy on the trip and I have swollen ankles and feet. We’re going to take a little bit longer with our driving time with the extra stops, but it’s necessary.

I feel very strong about this, especially after seeing my cardiologist today. She reminded me that I must really get out of the car more, especially with swollen feet. She said I need to make sure to do this to prevent blood clots. I had honestly forgotten about that.

After speaking to her about my shortness of breath and other symptoms, she was very thorough in her questioning. She also went through all my records and wants to get all of them from my Virginia doctor. Now, the plan is for me to have a stress test in April.

I kind of freaked out inside when she said “stress test”, because of my experience during my first stress test. She said that she won’t put me on the treadmill, because I wouldn’t be able to hack it. They will use medication to put my heart under stress.

Even without the treadmill, I’m nervous about the whole thing. I know that they need to know what is happening with my heart. I don’t want to miss an important preventative that could save my life. Heart failure and TMI are in my family, so I need to have good checkups.

Now, I’ve got to go pack my suitcase. Fun times.
