Breast Cancer Awareness Giveaway Hop

Posted on October 10, 2022October 6, 2022 by Lisa
Spread the love

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every year we have the same events and reminders to get our mammograms. Every time I go for a mammogram I’m given a secondary test but now I have been given a 3D Mammogram.

There are pros and cons to getting the 3D test. These are usually reserved for those of us with very dense tissue or those who have had a suspicious looking 2D test. I was reading here and the pros were what I expected: the test could see through dense tissue very well and the results were much quicker. I always was happy to find out that day that there was nothing suspicious on my scan.

The pros were that the cost is more and some women don’t have insurance that covers the additional cost. Also, the compression can cause cancer cells to rupture and spread everywhere. I was very surprised to find that it’s not recommended for women over 55 to get the 3D. I’ve been given the 3D many times, and now I’m not happy at all to find this out. Make sure you know all the facts about mamograms before you go for your tests.

Giveaway Rules: Entrants must be at least 18 years of age and live in the US or CANADA. Winner will be notified by email and will then have 48 hours to reply and claim the prize. If they fail to do so, a new winner will be chosen. All winning entries will be verified. No social media is in any way responsible for this giveaway. Lisa’s Reading is responsible for prize fulfillment.
