My post-travel flare is really rough. The first day home was spent in my pajamas with an ice-pack on my head. My neck muscles are so tight and I’ve had a massive headache originating in my neck. These headaches are so hard to fight!
The first day I couldn’t get the headache to stop, even with 4 Advil every 4 hours. The second day in my pajamas I got a little relief after my second dose of 4 Advil. I also had a lot of dizziness and nausea. I’ve been living on dry toast and white potatoes to fight the nausea. Popsicles also seem to help a little.
When I woke today it seemed that my headache was gone. But once I got up and started moving around, the headache returned. Thankfully, the nausea is better. I just made a call for an appointment to get more Lidocaine injections in my shoulders. It always helps.
I’m really not supposed to be taking Advil, because my kidney function is declining. I really don’t have anything else that helps. I take so many medications, but none of them can get rid of all my pain. Advil is the only anti-inflammatory that I have. My massage is now scheduled and I hope that I can get some help.
Chronic pain is bad but flares of pain are so unbearable. When the pain gets this bad it’s hard to think and harder to get anything done. I’m not able to do anything but rest in my recliner.

On these days I watch Hallmark movies, write, and read books. I’m thankful that hubby can help me with fixing me some toast when I’m too nauseated to eat. Some days are just days for surviving. I know that I’ll get through the day and hope that tomorrow will be better.
