Have A Truly Merry Christmas

Spread the love

Welcome Christmas! I hope you and yours will have the merriest of Christmas’s this year! May you feel the love and peace of Christmas. And, I hope and pray that you have a day when your pain is under control.

Merry Christmas
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6

For me, the anticipation of Christmas is the biggest factor in my increase of pain. We stress and work hard to create an atmosphere of festivity. Then, we can finally let down and enjoy the day that’s arrived. As I’ve learned the hard way, it’s better to visualize the reality of the big day.

Christmas doesn’t have to be stressful if I remember to be grateful for the reality of the day. Christmas day won’t be like a Hallmark movie or a snowy card picture. We’re all imperfect people and the day is never perfect. But, the day is still wonderful and we can celebrate with a grateful heart.

Whether we feel good or not, whether we receive our most-wanted gift or not, we have so much to celebrate and be thankful for. We can be truly content with our circumstances and have a splendid day filled with lovely new memories.

It’s a helpful reminder to me that I shouldn’t compare this Christmas with any other Christmas. I shouldn’t feel deprived if I wasn’t going to be wearing a new fancy outfit. I will make the choice to feel beautiful and reach out to family and help them to feel beautiful.

Whatever I spent on the gifts is enough and I’ll give my gifts with a happy spirit and a joyful expression. I’ll choose to be grateful for the meal before me and not apologize if the cake came from a bakery. Chronic illness doesn’t have to define my holiday. My holiday joy will not be based on fake expectations.

Merry Christmas to us all. I pray that God will bless you and yours today!
