Spread the love

Christmas Eve has arrived and this begins the cooking and celebrating at our home. If you’re celebrating tonight and tomorrow I hope that your energy rises to meet your needs. I’m also hoping that your pain takes a break and gives you a few hours of ease.

When we are living with chronic illness and pain, our Christmas wish list may look a little different than that of the people around us. A nice new pair of boots would be lovely, but I would really love to unwrap a day to feel healthy. It would be miraculous to have a day when my eyes aren’t dry, but seeing clearly.

What would your health wish list include? It’s fun to dream about being healthy again, isn’t it? But, today I will chose to be thankful. This holiday season, I have health blessings. I’m still walking and smiling. My family brings me joy, and I’ll be able to see them all over the holidays.

My Christmas dinner will be huge and my belly will be full. I have gifts under the tree and am able to give gifts to those I love. I can attend church tonight (with a mask and booster) and sing hymns about the birth of my Savior. So many good things in my life.

I hope the same for you and yours. Merry Christmas!
