Two More Appointments

Spread the love

Another day with two appointments…. Today I had a first appointment for Pelvic Floor Therapy. I went to the hospital, where the PT offices are found. Unfortunately, I didn’t know exactly where the PT offices were and parked on the far end of the hospital complex. I ended up walking a very long way.

The appointment wasn’t really what I thought it would be. There were tons of questions and a pelvic exam. Then, the therapist gave me some exercises to do at home. I’ll only have two more appointments for this therapy. Usually, with my previous therapies, I had to do an hour of extremely difficult exercises. I’m so glad that I’m not doing that again!

At least next time I’ll know where to park so that I don’t spend so much time walking around the building. I wasn’t really tired after that one, but it was rather nerve-wracking. I was able to go home and eat lunch before my next appointment.

My next appointment was for Lidocaine injections in my neck muscles. This is the third time to have it done and it usually helps. I’m not feeling too good after the injections today. My neck and the muscles on each side are really sore. I feel like I just need to go to bed. Part of the pain is from decorating cookies and putting up the Christmas tree.

Yes, I know it’s early. I put it up early every year. It’s cheerful and it makes sense, since I’m watching Hallmark movies all the time. Other than football, my tv is usually on the Hallmark channel.

Tomorrow I only have one appointment. I’ll be going out of town for my phototherapy treatment. My husband and I go together and we get time to talk. A lot of the time we end up talking about our illnesses and appointments. We usually end up trying to encourage each other. Some days he’s more down about having cancer and then somedays it’s me feeling down.

The days when we both are discouraged, we usually get around to talking about how we just need to take it one day at a time and trust God. Our friend wrote a marvelous post today on Facebook about his EDS surgeries. It was very powerful and meaningful to me.

I agree with him when he talks about levels of trust in God. He said it so beautifully. Does your faith grow despite having chronic illness?
